The Holy Day of Easter is more than the food we eat and the gifts we share. It is a day we remember the resurrection of Christ our Savior. Before resurrection was his death and before His death was His crucifixion. These incidents make us reflect on our response to the gospel. However, the resurrection of Christ brings joy to the world just as His birth was a joyful news to those who waited for it. Jesus Christ is no longer in the grave. He rose from the dead and gave us life eternal. We have the hope of forgiveness of sins and living forever with God in heaven. 

The resurrection is a very big topic in the New Testament. It is the reason we believe that pardon and cleansing are possible. The resurrection gives us the assurance that we have conquered death, the greatest enemy of humanity. Jesus showed us that death no longer has power over us because of His resurrection (Roman 6:9). We are filled with joy because our sins are forgiven. We are glad because Satan was embarrassed by the sacrifice of Christ. The rising from the dead gave us a reason to hope for a better future here and hereafter. Alleluia!

If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. – 1 Corinthians 15:19-20 (kjv)
